- Microsoft Exchange - Network Fax Service
-
- I am having some problems sending a fax
- via Microsoft Exchange when sharing a fax
- modem. I can send faxes just fine from the
- file server (where the fax modem resides),
- but when sending from a workstation (which does
- not have it's own fax modem),
- nothing happens.
-
- Faxes simply sit in the Outbox folder on the
- workstation. They never make it to the Sent
- folder on the workstation. I think the fax
- is TRYING to go, but something is "in limbo".
- The reason I think that is that when I go to shut
- down the computer, I get a message that some task
- is still TRYING to run. I am forced to END TASK
- in order to shut down.
-
- I have gone through the steps of configuring the
- file server as a fax server in MS Exchange AND
- configuring the workstation as a client to the
- fax server (file server) in MS Exchange...
-
- I have tried sending faxes from the workstation
- while having the MS Fax driver installed
- on BOTH the file server and the workstation.
- I have also tried it having the MS Fax driver on JUST
- file server, since I am sharing the file server's
- fax modem. Made no difference...
-
- Whenever I try sending a fax from the workstation
- when I do not have MS Exchange (Inbox) running
- on the file server, I receive a message that the
- file server is not running. When I then turn on
- MS Exchange on the file server, this complaint
- seems to go away.
-
- Any ideas on what's wrong with this picture?!
-
- Another loosely related problem...
- Whenever I have the spell check option turned on
- in MSExchange, I get two different spell checker errors.
- I was under the understanding that this option would work
- if I have another 32-bit application containing a dictionary.
- I have Works for Win95, but whenever I send a fax either
- from Works or from MS Exchange, I get these spell checker
- complaints...!
-
- HELP!! Direct email PLEASE! I promise to
- summarize results to the newsgroup!
